The Art House, Waterfall Estate
ProReno was hired to assist with bringing to life the clients’ ideas for the joinery to their brand-new home — the kitchen, scullery, patio as well as the bedrooms and vanities. They were very specific in what they envisioned for the design and wanted the space to be livable industrial and welcoming when entertaining guests.
As avid art lovers, they desired to feature it throughout the house complete with picture rails and special pivot lighting for gallery walls.
How We Made the Client’s Vision a Reality
Kitchen
The client wanted the kitchen cabinets to be functional but also to act as a backdrop for the rest of the home’s decor.
We thus incorporated grey textures and tones from Seno to complement the steel, concrete, and colourful art displayed around the home. To break the dark colours and add a natural and softening element, we further added some wooden accents from Novolam.
We further installed LED lighting to add subtle depth and more texture to the space and used custom sprayed black Gola and strip handles which works well with the metallic gloss cabinetry and texture of the Flamed natural granite countertops from Granite Objects.
Bedrooms
For the BIC’s and vanities, we used Seno Oxide (leather look) for the cabinetry since it adds great texture. In the main bedroom, the client required a custom design for the interior of each BIC to suit their individual needs which included drawers, pants and skirt rails, shoe pull out drawers, shelving and hanging rails. The large sliding doors give access to most of the storage at once while minimising vertical lines.
Bathrooms
To achieve a modern look, we chose floating, wall mounted vanities. To match with other fittings in the bathrooms, we used light Quartz tops from Eezi Quartz and for practical storage space, drawers were installed. The client had colourful tiles installed in each bathroom to complement the vanity material which makes a unique statement and pull the focus.
